How to Reset Blink Sync Module

A Blink Sync Module is a device that connects your various Blink devices and relays commands to each. The Sync module offers plenty of benefits for your other Blink devices such as easy control, longer battery life, easy access to all cameras, and more.

In case you’re running into any problems with your Blink devices, resetting the Sync module is a great way to try to fix them. There are two ways to reset a Sync module for Blink cameras. 

Resetting a Blink Sync Module – Method 1

The first way to reset a Blink Sync module is by simply pressing and holding the physical reset button located on the side of the device. Hold it for about 15 seconds and then release it when you see a red light. The reset will be complete when you see a green and blue LED flash.

Resetting a Blink Sync Module – Method 2

Another way to reset the Sync module for Blink cameras is through the app. This reset is a bit more thorough and it completely wipes out all data for the particular module. To do this, follow these steps:

Step 1: Launch the Blink app and click on the question mark “?” icon

Step 2: Click on “Delete Sync Module

Step 3: Insert the serial number for the Sync module you want to reset and confirm

Now the module is deleted. The reset will be complete after you add it again. This way, it’s as if you’re adding a new Sync module from scratch. Here is how to add it back once deleted:

Step 1: Go to “Home” on the Blink app and click on the plus “+” or “Add” icon

Step 2: Choose your module and enter the serial number again

Step 3: Click on “Discover Device” and press “Join” when it appears

Resetting a Blink Sync Module – Method 3

The last way to reset a Blink Sync module is to power cycle the device. What does this mean?

Power cycling your Blink Sync module simply means cutting off all power to it and leaving it in that state for a few minutes. Simply disconnect the Blink Sync module from the outlet, leave it alone for a few minutes, and then plug it back in to restore power. It’s a quick and easy fix that will reset your Blink Sync module and get it running back to normal again.
