The setup process for the router is relatively easy and can be done either through a smartphone or a PC.

This guide will tell you how to set up your home’s TP-Link Archer AX-55 router.

How to setup Archer AX55 with EasyMesh Mesh Wi-Fi

The first thing you need to do is ensure that your router is connected to the internet and is running on the latest version of firmware available.

Open the TP-Link Tether app and navigate to the firmware update menu by clicking on the Tools tab and then heading to the System menu.

Select the Firmware Update option and then press the update button to upgrade to the latest version.

Wait for 5 minutes for the firmware update to complete, do note that you will need to repeat this process with every router on your network that you wish to configure as an EasyMesh satellite node.

Next, you need to reset the router that you wish to use as a satellite EasyMesh Node. Power on the router and wait 5 minutes for all the indicator lights to appear.

Now press the reset button at the back and hold it for 10 seconds to reset the router to its factory settings. This process will take another 5 minutes and the router will reboot automatically.

Do note that you don’t need to reset the main router and only the one that you would like to set up as a node. After the reset process is complete, you can link your EasyMesh node to the main router.

This process is really simple and first, you need to ensure that your main router is working properly with an internet connection. Press the WPS button found at the back of the main router for a period of 2 seconds.

Next, you need to press the same WPS/Wi-Fi button on the Satelite EasyMesh node and the power status indicator light will now begin flashing to indicate that the main router is getting connected to the node.

Wait 5 minutes for the process to complete and the node will reboot with the internet status indicator blinking green on the node.

This means that the set-up process is successfully completed and now you can manage all the routers via the TP-Link Tether app on your smartphone.

Click on Tools and then navigate to the EasyMesh/OneMesh screen to find the satellite-linked routers there. You can check the current status of all the routers as well as the quality of the connection.

That’s it, you can now configure all the settings on your EasyMesh and control all the routers via the TP-Link Tether app!
