How To Setup VIGI Wireless Camera With VIGI NVR

If you are looking to buy a new security camera then chances are that you encountered a security surveillance system based on NVR (Network Video Recorder). An NVR system will allow you to capture footage digitally using IP cameras and then send it directly to the recorder using a wired or wireless internet connection.

How to Setup VIGI Wireless Camera with VIGI NVR

The first thing that you need to do is connect the wireless VIGI camera to the Wi-Fi router in your home or office. To do this, you will need to download the VIGI app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your device.

After installing the app, log in to your TP-Link account or create a new one if you already have an existing account. Next, you need to press the + icon to add a new device and then scan the QR code present on your camera.

Choose the type of connection: wired or wireless that you wish to set up your camera with. You will notice the lights on the camera blinking red and green meaning that it is ready to pair.

Connect your smartphone or tablet to the Wi-Fi network of the camera and you will find the Wi-Fi name based on the camera model that you have purchased. Now head back to the app and set a password to secure the camera.

Select a timezone and set a name so you can identify this camera in the future. Wait for the app to scan for nearby cameras and then it will automatically pair to it.

Now enter the credentials for your home Wi-Fi network so your camera can connect to the same network as the VIGI NVR. Wait for the camera to connect to the network and you will be able to see it in the app.

Next, it’s time to pair the wireless camera to the VIGI NVR device, right-click in the NVR software to open the menu and select the add camera option. Do note that both the camera and the NVR device must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Choose the camera that you wish to add from the list and then press the Add in Batches button. Now click on the Edit button next to the camera that you just added and enter the password configuration on the VIGI app.

Enter the username and password that you just configured on the VIGI app and then click on the Save button to ensure the changes that you made are successfully applied. Click on the Refresh button and the camera will now be connected to the NVR device.
